Discover the Power of Christ-Centered Decision-Making

Spread the love

Christ-centered decision-making is the practice of seeking God’s will and wisdom in the process of making plans. This means that before we make any decision, big or small, we seek God’s guidance through prayer and studying His Word. We also seek Godly counsel from trusted spiritual mentors or peers who can offer wise and godly advice.

There are several reasons why Christ-centered decision-making is important:

It honors God

As Christians, our primary goal in life is to honor and glorify God. When we seek His will and guidance in our decision-making, we demonstrate our commitment to His sovereignty and acknowledge that He is the source of all wisdom.

It brings peace

When we make decisions based on our own limited understanding and desires, we can experience anxiety and uncertainty. However, when we seek God’s guidance and make decisions based on His will, we can experience a sense of peace and confidence that comes from knowing we are in alignment with His plan for our lives.

It prevents mistakes

When we rely solely on our own understanding and desires, we can make decisions that lead to negative consequences. However, when we seek God’s guidance, we can avoid making choices that may lead us down a harmful path.

It helps us grow spiritually

Seeking God’s guidance in decision-making is an opportunity for us to grow in our relationship with Him. It allows us to deepen our understanding of His character and to trust in His faithfulness.

It helps keeps Christ in the center of our lives

As followers of Jesus Christ, it is important that we make Him the center of our lives. This includes seeking His guidance and wisdom in everything we do, from the small decisions we make each day to the major life-changing ones. By doing so, we demonstrate our trust in Him and our desire to follow His will for our lives.

In Colossians 1:17-18, the Apostle Paul writes, “He is before all things, and in him, all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.” This passage reminds us that Christ should be the foundation of our lives and that all things should be done with His supremacy in mind.

How do we make Christ-centered decisions?

Starting with Christ in our decision-making processes requires making time for prayer and studying His Word each day. This allows us to grow in our relationship with Him and receive guidance and direction for our lives. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” By studying the Bible, we gain wisdom and insight that can help us make wise decisions and navigate through life’s challenges.

In addition to personal devotion, we also prioritize Christ in our decisions by seeking His will through prayer and seeking Godly counsel from others. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” By trusting in Him and seeking His guidance, we can be assured that we are making decisions that align with His will for our lives.

Starting with Christ first also extends to our families. As parents, we have a responsibility to raise our children in a way that honors God and instills in them a love for Him. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.” By prioritizing Christ in our homes, we can create an environment that fosters spiritual growth and discipleship.

By making Christ the center of our lives and seeking His guidance as we make decisions, we will experience the peace, joy, and purpose that come from living a life that is fully surrendered to Him!

Blessings,
